AboutMyArea local election campaign
The project covered almost fifty election areas from Cornwall to Inverness and rural Bedfordshire
to metropolitan Barnsley. Almost a thousand election candidates were approached and, as a result, web traffic increased by an
average 15 per cent. Many community websites participating in the campaign received their highest ever statistics and the project
has since been nominated for a New Statesman New Media Award.

“site stats are up and the right people are aware of us now.”
“it has
given us a great opportunity to show our 'grown-up' side to the community”
“I went to see the local radio during
my lunch break, it went well. Its going out tomorrow in the news slot for about 4 hours. She also wants me to keep in touch
and get a follow up story etc. Thanks again, wouldn't have got it with out your press release.”
Local site editors
“Those
of you that have taken part in this campaign will now be seeing the potential power that AMA holds and the opportunities that it creates.
Those of you that haven't, I do hope that you will take part in the next project. We are doing this for your benefit and by working
with each other and for each other we are creating a brand that can really make a difference. Your communities will not be able to
avoid getting involved with you!”
John Taplin – Managing Director
